Depression

Sheryl Anne S. Lugtu

Everytime I close my eyes,
There are voices–
Killing and chilling
My empty soul

Everytime I try to run,
There are words–
Slashing my throat,
Piercing like dagger

Everytime I start to hide,
There are shadows–
Chasing me…
Didn’t stop ’til I am down

And everytime I tried to live,
There are monsters–
Hiding under my bed
Catching my every breath
